Wonder301 (Best Trade Wins)

Hello! Zee here with another scam watching post!
I have some sad news. Due to her opening the AJ-SOS, Cerise won't really be able to post much here, if at all. However, she will have posts over there, so make sure to check it out. Anyways, this post will be about a scammer I caught yesterday named Wonder301.

This is his player card. In the scam, he is offering the fox hat he is wearing as a prize.

This was his trade list. It was full of couches which were his scamming bait.

This is him advertising the scam. It's rare to see people directly scam in a world area and not at a den, because the "Giveaway" method of scamming is often thought to be more efficient, but this scammer chose to advertise in Township, which also allows him to be stopped by passing Jammers who see him. In his scam, he said that the highest amount of pirate swords he was traded would get his fox hat. However, if he were not a scammer, he would just trade the fox hat for the swords.

Thanks for reading! Sorry for the short post, but I wanted to whip something up quickly to submit to the AJ-SOS. Have a good day!

Razer11455 (Best Trade Wins) (Giveaway)

Hello! Zee here with another scammer post!
Ok, so, if you haven't heard, the SWS is coming back! They will be a new group called the SOS, link to the blog here, and lucky for me, I was able to get an invitation to the group and go on their first scammer patrol with them! This post will be about a scammer I caught on that patrol, Razer11455.

His player card. He is wearing some phantom armor which he was offering in the scam. He was also offering a few other small rares like Rare Item Mondays, which are commonly scammed by new scammers.

This was his trade once he began the scam. Before it housed what he was offering in the scam, but now he had his scamming bait on it. A simple table that all new Jammers get when they join.

This is him advertising his scam. It's a giveaway, but he uses the "Best Trade Wins" method during the scam. Luckily enough, despite the items he was offering in the scam being rare and hard to get items, only one other person came, the one other person attending wasn't tricked.

When we got there, he put the basic table on his trade and began telling us how his scam would play out. Sadly enough, I deleted the full version of what he said, but he basically said that the best trade he got for his bait would win. This is a scam because, if he wanted to trade his items and get something for them, then he would just normally trade the items, instead of making someone trade for the bait first.

I accused him of scamming, and shortly after he locked his den, which is a typical scammer move.

Allie296 (Best Trade Wins)

Hello! Zee back with another post!
If you haven't heard, the SWS, the previously biggest scam watching group in Animal Jam was disbanded. It was sad, sure, but most of the agents from the SWS are going on to make their on scam watching blogs, which will help more than having one huge group, so I can't really complain.
Anyways, on to the post. This post is about a scammer called Allie296, who I found scamming in Jamaa Township.

This is her player card. The outfit she was wearing was being offered in the scam.

This was her trade. She was using a lawn chair, a easy item to get, as her scamming bait.

This is her advertising her scam. Though she's not saying it directly, this is pretty much a "Best Trade Wins" scam. She's asking for the best trade for her outfit.

Thing is, there's no reason why she can't just trade her outfit in pieces normally. She answered with this. Now, if she was telling the truth, how would she get the outfit to the winner? She's non-member, so she can't send gifts. It would require another level of unneeded trading.

Astyanaxys (Alternate Account) (Best Trade Wins) (Giveaway) (Trust)

Hello! Zee here!
I was hanging out in Julian2's den, trying to find scammers. I, of course, trying to hunt in the Scammer Drought of 2015, had no luck, except for one person. The user Astyanaxys, who was holding a list giveaway.

This is their player card. I noticed how their username was very unique and strange, but their appearance was fairly normal, at least for a Jammer hanging out in Aldan.
In the scam, they were offering their list, which was chock full of betas and rares, sure to attract a crowd.

While at the scam, I noticed their achievements. They only had eight. Keep in mind that they had a list full of rares, and you can easily tell that this is an Alt. Account. The owner of this Alt. obviously traded over all those rares to this account to do their scamming, but more on that later. Let's get in to the actual scamming.

This was the scammer advertising their scam. I was at Julian2's den, a popular place for scammers, so a scene like this wasn't uncommon, however, it did attract a lot of Jammers to the giveaway, which was to be expected with his amazingly rare list.

When I got there, I saw that his list was different. Previously, it was full of spikes, but it had changed now. The most notable change was the addition of the necklace, which the scammer would use as their bait.

He asked us to buddy him. Whenever a scammer does this, they're keeping you at their mercy. If you interfere then they can just lock you out, but strangely, the scammer never did that.

Something notable he did, even though I didn't get a picture, was the fact that he said that he was ok with us videoing the giveaway. This is my final piece of evidence as to why this person is an Alt. Account. They don't care if they're caught because they can always re-transfer their rares and try again on a different account.

He told us that this would be a trust, and began hopping, asking for trusts. A few people trusted him, but to my knowledge no one was harmed and pretty much everyone there knew he was a scammer.
Half-way though his scam, he stopped talking, but still declined ever trade he got almost instantly. Eventually he left, leading me to think that he left mid-scam and was logged out.

Alright, that's it! I was very happy to actually find a scammer and get a real post up for you guys today. Remember to be safe, and have a good day!

Aris700 (Best Trade Wins) (Truster)

Hello! Zee here with a scammer I found while in Wootmoo's den. In the past few days, it's been very hard to get in there and check for scammers, yet this morning I was able to find an opening pretty quickly. Here is what I found.

This is their player card. There was nothing very unusual about them, but they only had about 3 pages of very easy to get achievements, most being game achievements, most likely gotten from betting. Even though you may think so, I do not count betting as scamming. Though I don't 100% approve of it, it's less harmful than scamming, so I let it slide.

This was their trade. They were using what is considered one of the most useless items in the game, the Horned Leg Pads. They can only be won from the Trading Party claw machine, which costs 5 gems per round.

This was them actually scamming.  They're asking for a good flash, and the best one will win their rare spiked wrist. If you're wondering, they did indeed have one. There was only one person trusting them, who was believed to be their main account. They both spoke only in caps until it was pointed out and never spoke at the same time. Yet, due to a lack of evidence, I cannot 100% prove that the person trusting Aris700 was their main account, and because of this I will not share their username.

I went up and asked why Aris700 couldn't just trade the spike, and they said that they wanted more excitement out of trading. This excuse is very common, and it is also a very crappy excuse. You can get the same effect of seeing good trading deals from just trading the item directly, there is no need for an extra stage of the trading process.

Aris700 and his supposed main account began pointing out how greedy and selfish Jammers were. I continued to argue with them, and a kind fox joined in to help. Eventually the scammer left, but their supposed main account hung around the den. I didn't see anyone get scammed, but it could have been possible someone did. Luckily the fox and I were able to prevent barely anyone from trusting this scammer.

Thanks for reading! I hope this post helped you learn something about scammers. Until the next post, take care!

Sparkiethesparkle (Best Trade Wins) (Alternate Account)

Hello Jammers! Zee here with another scammer I found on a while out watching. A lot of information about scam watching will be covered in this post, so read on and enjoy!

This is the scammer's player card. The scammer was offering their whole outfit in the scam, which would attract many Jammers in the room. Luckily, many just ignored her.

This was her trade. She was offering very basic items that you can easily obtain as her scamming bait.

This is her preforming her scam. This is a "Best Trade Wins" scam. In this scam, a scammer will put a bait item on trade and the best offer will win. Thing is, in a Best Trade Wins scam, the scammer will usually accept the item and run off without giving you your prize.

I asked her why she couldn't just trade her items normally and she then claimed she was quitting. If that was so, why would she care about getting the best trade? Why not give your items to your friends, randomly send them away to lucky jammers, or recycle them for gems and then donate the gems to help big cats or to get items for friends?

This is something new to this blog, yet it is not an old scammer trick. This trick is known as the "Alternate Account," often abbreviated by scam watchers as "Alt. Account." It is very easy to spot an Alt. Account. If their name is "New Jammer" and they're scamming, they're most likely an Alt. The easiest way to tell, though, is to look at their achievements. If there are less than 10 and you spot suspicious activity such as scamming, then the scammer is most likely an Alt.

You ask yourself, why do scammers use Alts? What is the purpose of an Alt? An Alt is used by a scammer to keep their main account safe while scamming. They'll often send over items to the Alt. to attract attention and will scam unknowing Jammers. After they scam, they usually send the items back to their main, along with anything they scammed. In "Decline" scams, the Alt. will often be seen scamming. The main player will often be seen with the Alt. trying to convince people that the Alt. will never decline.

Alts are often used by us Scam Watchers, too. We use them in the same ways that scammers do... sort of. We use them to keep our accounts safe. While scam watching on an account, a scammer that's maybe heard of you will never know it's you behind the Alt, so you can scam watch safely. However, Alts are not required for scam watching.

I hope this post was helpful to you, fellow scam watchers and readers. Keep an eye out for more in the future!
